In the community...

Sunday night, Takoma Park (Maryland) artists and activists met at the very groovy Jackie's for an evening of socializing and on-the-spot discussion and suggestions for the city Arts & Humanities Commission.

The very brilliant and capable John Borstel and his team facilitated an adapted open space meeting. Lots of assets and possibilities exist in this community. And (I'm afraid), quite a bit of stuck assumptions and thinking. Hoping and looking forward to some new directions, fresh energy, and dynamic collaboration to come.

Cranial Vault Reprise at Space 7:10

We're going to show Cranial Vault again! This time at Space 7:10 at Kefa Cafe, 963 Bonifant St. in downtown Silver Spring.

Tom Roberts with special guest: one of his favorite! John Hopkins neurologists. Friday, Feb. 6, 6:30 to 8:30pm

This painting (Janus) responds to Tom's report of waking up after brain surgery to the visage (or alternate visage) of another patient. A patient who's had a drawing of a face tatooed to the back of his bald head.

Mixed Media Work Featured in Gallery Shop

Five of my framed collage-paintings and -drawings are available at the Pyramid Atlantic Community Store in downtown Silver Spring. Just visited this afternoon and they are hung and look good (I think) in the space. All of these pieces have been shown in at least one previous solo or group exhibit: Stare Mesto (Old Town), Early Summer Pastoral, Ampersand, Bridge in Black and White, Cinderella Dreams.
